Qatar Airways Winter 2026 Expansion: Over 170 Destinations and 186 New Weekly Flights

If you are planning your cold-weather getaways, international travel is about to get much smoother. Qatar Airways has officially unveiled its winter 2026–2027 flight schedule, expanding its global network to more than 170 destinations worldwide.

The state-owned carrier will operate over 186 additional weekly flights across Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, North America, and the Middle East. Routing primarily through the multi-award-winning Hamad International Airport hub in Doha, this expansion is built around meeting record-high demand for both leisure getaways and long-haul business connectivity.

Major Route Frequency Increases

Whether you are looking for sun-drenched beaches or major financial capitals, the updated schedule significantly bumps capacity across key tourist and business routes starting in late October 2026:

Leisure Destinations Ramped Up: Tropical escapes are seeing major boosts. Flights to Phuket (HKT) and Malé, Maldives (MLE) will both jump from 14 to 21 weekly flights starting October 25. In Africa, services to Zanzibar, Tanzania will resume daily operations, while Seychelles (SEZ) flights will scale up to seven weekly flights by early 2027.
Increased Transatlantic & European Access: Transatlantic travellers heading to Canada will see a 40% seat capacity increase with flights to Montréal (YUL) expanding from five to seven per week. Meanwhile, high-density European gateways are getting reinforced: London Heathrow (LHR) will see a bump to 56 weekly flights, complemented by daily codeshare operations with British Airways, while Frankfurt (FRA) will grow to 21 weekly flights.
Australasia & Middle East Upgrades: Down Under travelers can look forward to the resumption of direct daily services to Canberra via Melbourne, along with Melbourne frequencies doubling from seven to 14 flights weekly. Regionally, four destination resumptions in Saudi Arabia (Qassim, Taif, Yanbu, and Tabuk) will bring the carrier’s network in the Kingdom to 12 cities.

High-Speed Starlink Connectivity at 35,000 Feet

Beyond route network growth, Qatar Airways is doubling down on modernizing the in-flight experience. The airline is rapidly accelerating its rollout of Starlink satellite Wi-Fi.

By this winter, passengers can expect up to 340 Starlink-enabled flights per day across more than 150 widebody aircraft. This upgrade offers gate-to-gate high-speed internet—allowing travellers to stream high-definition content, play online games, or work seamlessly without the lag traditionally associated with airplane Wi-Fi.

With nearly 1,800 total weekly flight frequencies slated by December 2026, the award-winning carrier is reinforcing its place at the center of global aviation.

For holidaymakers, the expanded winter schedule offers greater flexibility, shorter layovers, and expanded award seat availability through the Qatar Airways Privilege Club.
