How Canadians Can Get 30% Off New York City Hotels and Broadway Shows This Summer
In a direct bid to woo back one of its most vital international travel markets, New York City has launched a broad new tourism campaign specifically aimed at Canadian visitors. Dubbed "NYC’s Northern Neighbour Deal," the incentive offers 30% discounts across more than 85 participating hotels, Broadway productions, iconic attractions, and dining spots throughout the five boroughs.
The campaign comes as city tourism officials seek to boost cross-border travel numbers and cushion the impact of a sluggish exchange rate for Canadian vacationers.

What the "Northern Neighbour Deal" Includes
The late-summer promotion covers a wide spectrum of New York's hospitality and culture sector:
- 30% Off Participating Hotels: Over 40 lodging properties are signed on, including Ace Hotel Brooklyn, The Knickerbocker, Walker Hotels, Sofitel New York, and The Westin New York at Times Square.
- 30% Off Attractions & Shows: Savings apply to tickets for major Broadway shows, the Empire State Building Observation Deck, Edge at Hudson Yards, the Intrepid Museum, and Yankee Stadium tours.
- Flight Discounts: Regional carrier Porter Airlines has paired with the initiative, offering up to 20% off flights on New York itineraries booked by August 7 for travel extending through December 15.

Why NYC is Target-Marketing Canada Right Now
Canada remains New York City's second-largest international feeder market, with roughly 820,000 Canadian visitors expected across 2026. While that represents a 3% bump over last year, overall cross-border numbers have taken longer to reach pre-pandemic levels when over 1 million Canadians traveled to the Big Apple annually.
"Canada has long been one of New York City's most important international markets, and we are focused on strengthening that connection," said Julie Coker, President and CEO of NYC Tourism + Conventions. "The Northern Neighbour Deal is a targeted effort to drive travel from our second-largest international market... encouraging Canadians to book a summer visit while generating new business for hotels, attractions, and restaurants across the five boroughs."
Tourism generated over $55 billion in direct spending for NYC last year, supporting 400,000 local hospitality jobs. City officials hope that bridging the currency exchange gap with structural 30% cuts will turn late-summer trip considerations into confirmed bookings.
