Flynas Expands Airbus Order with 25 Additional Jets to Fuel Saudi Aviation Strategy

Saudi Arabia’s leading low-cost carrier,flynas, has firmed up an agreement withAirbusto acquire 25 additional aircraft. The order comprises 20 single-aisle A321neo aircraft and 5 wide-body A330-900 (A330neo) jets, further solidifying the airline's position as one of the fastest-growing budget carriers in the Middle East.

The strategic deal brings flynas’ total confirmed commitments with Airbus to 235 aircraft out of an overall orderbook of 280 jets. Under this updated agreement, flynas’ total order commitments stand at 56 units for the A321neo and 20 units for the A330-900 wide-body variant.

Supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030

The expansion comes as Saudi Arabia aggressively scales up its air travel connectivity and logistics capacity to align with the goals of the Saudi National Aviation Strategy and Vision 2030. The new aircraft will support the carrier's growth across its six domestic hubs, scale international route networks, and facilitate pilgrimage travel under the Kingdom's Pilgrim Experience Program.

The additional capacity will also prepare the low-cost carrier for the anticipated influx of global travelers as Saudi Arabia gears up to host major mega-events, including Expo 2030 and the 2034 FIFA World Cup.

Modernizing the All-Airbus Fleet

flynas currently operates a modern fleet of 67 aircraft—comprising 61 A320neos, 4 A320ceos, and 2 A330-300s. Incorporating fuel-efficient, new-generation aircraft like the A321neo and A330neo enables the carrier to minimize its environmental footprint while expanding its flight range.

The A330neo, powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, cuts fuel burn and CO₂ emissions by 25% compared to prior-generation competitor jets, providing flynas the versatility to serve high-density regional routes and expand into long-haul international markets.
