Air Tanzania Expands Middle East Reach with Direct Flights to Muscat

Air Tanzania, the national carrier of the United Republic of Tanzania, has officially expanded its regional footprint with the launch of direct scheduled passenger flights connecting Muscat International Airport (MCT) with Dar es Salaam (DAR) and the spice island of Zanzibar (ZNZ).

The strategic expansion follows regulatory approval from Oman’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), marking a major milestone in air connectivity between East Africa and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations.

Boosting Tourism and Historical Trade Ties

The new route responds to long-standing demand for direct travel options between Oman and Tanzania—two nations bound by deep-rooted historical, cultural, and commercial ties.

For travelers seeking world-class coastal destinations, the route provides a direct gateway to Zanzibar’s UNESCO World Heritage sites and famous white sand beaches, bypassing multi-stop connections through regional transit hubs.
