Air Arabia Signs Group-Level Distribution Deal with Amadeus to Expand Global Reach

Middle East and North Africa’s leading low-cost carrier operator, Air Arabia, has officially signed a comprehensive group-wide distribution deal with travel technology giant Amadeus.

The strategic partnership enables travel agencies and corporate buyers across Amadeus’ global network to directly book and manage Air Arabia flights within their standard operational workflows. By leveraging Amadeus’ light ticketing capabilities, travel sellers can access the airline’s fares, route network, and ancillary services on a single screen alongside traditional legacy carriers.

The agreement covers the entire Air Arabia Group, extending distribution access across its primary operational hubs located in the United Arab Emirates (Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Ras Al Khaimah), Morocco, Egypt, and Pakistan.

Streamlining Workflows for Global Travel Agencies

Historically, budget airlines maintained strict direct-to-consumer booking channels to minimize distribution overhead. However, as low-cost carriers scale international operations and target high-yield business travelers, multi-channel distribution has become essential.

Through this integration, travel agents gain instant access to Air Arabia’s network of over 200 routes without needing to navigate separate web portals or unfamiliar booking tools. Key operational benefits for connected agencies include:

  • Seamless Booking Workflows: Travel advisors can search, quote, and issue Air Arabia tickets inside standard GDS screens using existing back-office tools.
  • Full Servicing Capabilities: Agents can manage post-booking requests—including flight modifications, seat selection, cancellations, and refunds—directly within the system.
  • Expanded Ancillary Access: Travel sellers can bundle optional extras like pre-booked baggage allowance and in-flight meals into customer itineraries.

Driving Growth Across Key Regional Hubs

Air Arabia currently transports over 20 million passengers annually across the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and Asia. By connecting its inventory to Amadeus, the airline strengthens its footprint in key origin-and-destination markets where agency bookings dominate corporate and leisure trade.

Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, highlighted that the agreement directly aligns with the carrier's international expansion strategy by broadening distribution reach while keeping booking processes efficient for trade partners.

From the technology side, Maher Koubaa, Executive Vice President Travel Unit and Managing Director EMEA at Amadeus, noted that the deal enhances choice for travelers while ensuring seamless agency support before, during, and after trips.

The integration is being rolled out globally across all Amadeus-connected points of sale, giving travel buyers immediate access to Air Arabia's expanded fare inventory.
